Monthly car rental in Hakuba
Most car rental in Hakuba is priced by the day for a ski week. We rent by the week and by the month, so a stay of a month or the whole ski season costs much less per day. The price includes tax and insurance, and we deliver the car to your accommodation.
Example: a 3-month ski season with a kei car
Rental from ¥221,100 (3 × ¥73,700) + CDW ¥60,000 (3 × ¥20,000) + winter tyres ¥20,000 = from about ¥301,100, plus delivery and collection, which we include in your quote. Longer rentals can work out cheaper, so ask us for the exact total.

This winter, winter tyres cost a flat ¥20,000 however many months you rent (rentals starting November to March). We fit them before delivery.

A visitor from Taiwan planned a seven-week stay from late December to mid-February, travelling between Nagano, Matsumoto and Hakuba. They asked on LINE whether they could rent a 4WD car with a Taiwanese licence. (A Taiwanese licence can be used with an official Japanese translation.)
Flexible plans
You can extend by the month or return early if your plans change. There is no cancellation fee for an early return, but unused days are not refunded.

Q. How much does it cost to rent a car in Hakuba for a month?
A kei car is from ¥73,700 per month, tax and insurance included. With the required CDW (¥20,000 per month), it is from ¥93,700 per month. Winter tyres are a flat ¥20,000 this winter.
Q. Can I rent a car for the whole ski season in Hakuba?
Yes. You can rent from one week to several months and extend by the month. Many guests rent from December to March.
Q. Do you deliver to my chalet in Echoland, Happo or Wadano?
Yes. We deliver anywhere in the Hakuba Valley, including Happo, Wadano, Echoland, Goryu, Iwatake and Tsugaike, and in Omachi and Otari.
Q. Which licence do I need to rent a car in Hakuba?
An International Driving Permit issued under the 1949 Geneva Convention with your home licence, or a licence from Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Monaco or Taiwan with an official Japanese translation. Read our licence guide.
Q. Are the cars ready for snow?
Every car is 4WD, and we fit winter tyres before delivery for a flat ¥20,000 this winter.
